Day 36 of 40 Day Fast from Negative Thinking

Day 36

“I feel disconnected, and have a hard time experiencing real love!”

Let’s reject the negative thought that says, “I feel disconnected, and have a hard time experiencing real love!”

Today is the 36th Day of counting the Omer [referring to the Barley Harvest], as a “Countdown to Shavuot [Pentecost]” .  The 49-day “Counting of the Omer” from the Day of Firstfruits retraces our ancestors’ seven-week spiritual journey from the Exodus to Sinai.

THIRTY is Hebraically numbered by the:

12th HEBREW LETTER –LAMED ל #12 : It is used to represent the NUMBER 30 [SH’LOSHIM in Hebrew]: It comes the root LAMAD [to study and learn]. It is pictographically a “OX GOAD” [to prod the animal along; or a teaching rod] or “SHEPHERD’S STAFF”, that speaks of the AUTHORITY to TEACH or LEAD. This is the age of the PRIESTHOOD, and RABBINICAL AUTHORITY.

PLUS WE ADD THE 6th HEBREW LETTER – VAV#6 ו: It is used to represent the NUMBER 6 [SHISHAH for masculine, and SHESH for feminine in Hebrew]: It is pictographically a “HOOK” of CONNECTION. VAV is also the HEBREW WORD for “and”, which is conjunction  that connects, people, places and things. The SIXTH DAY of Creation, revealed MANKIND [Adam], who was the CONNECTION between HEAVEN and EARTH, just like the first VAV in the Torah [Gen. 1:1] is the word “AND” that CONNECTS HEAVEN and EARTH. This NUMBER of MAN revealed ADAM as the Apex of HaShem’s Creation.

Together the LAMED [from LAMAD: to learn] and VAV [“HOOK” of CONNECTION] speaks of The LOVE CONNECTION that we should have with HaShem, Our Heavenly Authority, and Yeshua, Our Shepherd, and His Earthly Authorities, or leaders in our life.

THREE STEPS OF CONNECTION!

Step 1 –KNOW THAT HASHEM IS THE SOURCE OF LOVE!

a. 1 John 4:7-9 Dear friends, let us love one another, for LOVE comes from GOD. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because GOD IS LOVE. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him

b.  From the first pages of Genesis, God reveals His desire to have an intimate and meaningful relationship with His Creation. He infused the essence of Himself within each person that He created. This is why we crave love, and desire to experience love in a deep and significant way. Our Maker is a God, Who is LOVE! He doesn’t just have love for us; He is LOVE! Anything we have can be taken away; but what “IS” will always “BE”! That means that God is the SOURCE of all LOVE, and the FATHER that cares for all His Children.

Step 2 – KNOW THAT REAL LOVE IS COVENANTAL AND GIVES ALL:

a. Deuteronomy 6:4“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.   NKJV

b. God is a Covenantal Creator, and He doesn’t create without first considering the proper relationship or covenantal boundaries that protects His Prized Possession. He is a Jealous, or Zealous God, Who is impassioned over His People. This perfect ZEAL reveals God’s perfect Plan that He has premeditated on our behalf. The Bible is the written revelation of that purpose and plan.

c. Moses gave Israel a covenant that reveals the greatest principle that a true believer must follow. This reveals that love is experienced on three levels:

  1. Spirit – love the LORD your God with all your heart
  2. Soul – love the LORD your God with all your soul
  3. Body – love the LORD your God with all your strength [might, resources]

d. Yeshua confirmed that this [“The Shema” – Deut. 6:4-9] was greatest principle  for us to follow:

Mark 12:28 Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, “Which is the first commandment of all?” 29 [Yeshua] answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one.  30 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’    NKJV

Step 3 – ALLOW YOURSELF TO EXPERIENCE REAL LOVE, AND BE RESTORED TO WHOLENESS BY THE GOD OF PEACE [SHALOM: WHOLNESS]:

a. Paul understood this principle and declared that it should be the life long goal of a believer:

1 Thes. 5:23 And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).       Amplified Bible

b. Paul used the virtue of “peace” to describe the complete work of God in the life of a true believer. This is because “peace” in Hebrew means “to complete, or make whole”, and in Greek in refers to joining parts to make to create oneness, or wholeness.

c. Let’s revisit Paul’s principles and terms found in 1 Thes. 5:23:

1 Thes. 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.     KJV

1. Wholly – holoteles – complete until the end [holo + teleos]; holo = whole, all  + teleos = end, finish,

2. Whole – holokleros – complete in every part [holo + kleros]; holo = whole, all  + kleros = portion, part,

d. The God of Peace [shalom: wholeness] will set us apart, and sanctify us in each part or area of our spirit, soul and body, as He integrates them to function as a whole. The Hebrew word for love is “Ahavah”, and it describes each aspect of love as a whole. The wholeness of man is described in unifying parts in Greek thought, and is the focus of 1 Thes. 5:23.

  1. Spirit – agape: heart-felt, unconditional Divine love [from agapao – to love much]
  2. Soul – phileo: mental & emotional affection; brotherly love
  3. Body – eros: physical love and affection

Think It, Say It & Do It!:

I KNOW THAT HASHEM IS THE SOURCE OF LOVE, and that REAL LOVE IS COVENANTAL AND GIVES ALL! This is why I MUST ALLOW MYSELF TO EXPERIENCE REAL LOVE, AND BE RESTORED TO WHOLENESS BY THE GOD OF PEACE [SHALOM: WHOLNESS], in Yeshua’s Name! Shalom Y’all!
