Day 28 of 40 Day Fast from Negative Thinking

Day 28

“I Can’t Stop Making Excuses!”

You should reject the negative thought that says, “I Can’t Stop Making Excuses!”

Luke 14:15-18 Now when one of those who sat at the table with Him heard these things, he said to Him, “Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!” Then He said to him, “A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ But they all with one accord began to make EXCUSES….

Today is the 28th Day of counting the Omer [referring to the Barley Harvest], as a “Countdown to Shavuot [Pentecost]”.  The 49-day “Counting of the Omer” from the Day of Firstfruits retraces our ancestors’ seven-week spiritual journey from the Exodus to Sinai.

TWENTY-EIGHT is TWENTY and EIGHT in Hebrew.

TWENTY is Hebraically numbered by the:

11th HEBREW LETTER – KAPH כ #11: Is used to represent the NUMBER 20 [ESRIM in Hebrew]: It is the pictographically and “CLOSED HAND” or HaShem’s Atoning Covering [Like Yom Kippur: the “Day of Atonement” or “HaShem’s Covering”]. The Hebrew Number ESRIM [20] is the plural of ESER [10]. So twenty is also a multiple of DIVINE ORDER. This was also the age that the Men of Israel enlisted into the Army.

PLUS WE ADD THE 8th HEBREW LETTER CHET#8 ח: It is used to represent the NUMBER 8 [SH’MONAH for masculine, and SH’MONEH for feminine in Hebrew – from Shemen: oil; to be fully ripe, or plump like an olive]:

It is pictographically a “FENCE” or a “BOUNDARY”, just like the HEBREW WORD “Chai”, meaning “life” [protected by a “fence”]. This is what the rabbis, and “Sages of Blessed Memory”, were instructed to do: “Make many disciples, and put “fences” around the commandments [of the Torah], to protect “life”, and the intergrity of HaShem’s Holy Word. Eight Hebraically refers to NEW BEGINNINGS, and speaks of a FRESH START, like the EIGHT PEOPLE on NOAH’S ARK.

2 Chron. 11:21 says that King Rehoboam had TWENTY-EIGHT sons. 2 Kings 10:36  says that King Jehu [Yehu] ruled over Isra’el in Shomron [Samaria] for TWENTY-EIGHT years. There are 28 Generations between David and Messiah:

Together TWENTY and EIGHT speak of the DIVINE ORDER of Man’s BOUNDARY of PROTECTION, like a FENCE that is used to GUARD the SHEEP in a SHEEPFOLD.

THREE STEPS TO ELIMINATE EXCUSES:

Step 1 – STOP PLAYING THE “BLAME-GAME”:

a. DEFINITION OF EXCUSE: 1 attempt to lessen the BLAME attaching to a fault or offense; seek to defend or justify one’s actions or situation 2 release from a duty, requirement responsibility.

b. Daniel C. Finley Quote: EXCUSES are merely your mind’s way of defending your INACTION to help you AVOID RESPONSIBILITIES or TASKS.

c. Genesis 3:9-13 Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself. And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” Then the man said, “The woman whom YOU GAVE to be with me, SHE GAVE me of the tree, and I ATE.”

Step 2 – CONFESS YOUR FAULTS AND ADMIT YOUR WEAKNESSES:

a. Psalm 19:12 Who can understand his ERRORS? Cleanse me from secret FAULTS.

b. Col. 2:19 CONFESS your FAULTS one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. KJV

c. 2 Cor. 5:18-19 I ACKNOWLEDGED my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide. I said, “ I will CONFESS my transgressions to the Lord”; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.

d. 2 Cor. 12:9 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in WEAKNESS.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my WEAKNESSES, so that [Messiah’s] power may rest on me. That is why, for [Messiah’s] sake, I delight in WEAKNESSES, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am WEAK, then I am STRONG.

Step 3 – REFUSE TO LIVE IN LIES, SPEAK THE TRUTH & WALK IN HASHEM’S WISDOM:

a. Psalm 51:6 Behold, You desire TRUTH in the innermost being, and in the hidden part You will make me know WISDOM.

b. Colossians 4:5-6 WALK IN WISDOM toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your SPEECH always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

c. Eph. 4:15,25 ….SPEAKING THE TRUTH in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head [Messiah]…..Therefore, putting away LYING, “Let each one of you SPEAK TRUTH with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.

Think It, Say It & Do It!:

I WILL STOP PLAYING THE “BLAME-GAME”, as I learn to CONFESS MY FAULTS AND ADMIT MY WEAKNESSES. I REFUSE TO LIVE IN LIES, but instead I choose to SPEAK THE TRUTH & WALK IN HASHEM’S WISDOM, in Yeshua’s Name! Shalom Y’all!
